9-11 PiecesFor 9/11 we did really well, it was total redemption from last years nightmare of a performance. We practiced really hard and were prepared since the beginning of the school year. We were a mess, we didn't have our instrument sections really together. Our percussion section was really jumbled up aswell. This year we were organized and way more prepared.

GoalsMy goal is to learn all the major and minor scales for my instrument this year by heart. I've been trying since Freshman year and haven't taken it as serious until now. Since last year Ms. Chase has started to take them more seriously. So as a good student and a band member I have decided to make this my number 1 goal for band. I never understood how to find how many flats or sharps there were in a song, but recently I have understood it more than I did earlier. It's really starting to come to me and it makes me feel good about myself when I understand and it makes me want to learn more. I like how complex it is.

SmartmusicMy baseline score was 64%. I know I can do better but I was just proud that I got above 50%. I've always struggled with smart music, playing into a Chromebook messes me up. From last year to this year, I have improved. Even though we only did it once so far but I could already tell I improved. It was more about confidence in playing then just playing. It makes a world of a difference. For the 6 or 7 assignments we did on smart music this week I did extremely well. I understood what I was playing and how to play the notes. I don't remember all my scores, but I know they were all above a 90%. I also know I got a 100% on 1 or 2 of them. The others I believe I got either a 96% or a 93%. I was extremely confident doing them but I believe it was because I saw the notes and I put them together from what I learned. I am proud of the progress I have made so far this year. |
